Today, women are as involved in entrepreneurship as men, and the number of successful female entrepreneurs is increasing every day. While entrepreneurship is the path to economic development both globally and in our country, innovation and entrepreneurship are also a way to empower women.
KADEM (Women and Democracy Association), in collaboration with TÜBİTAK Marmara Teknokent (MARTEK) and with the support of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and 360 TV, held its 2nd Women’s Entrepreneurship Camp at the TÜBİTAK Gebze campus from October 3-8, 2016.
More than 150 women applied to the Entrepreneurship Camp with the slogan “I Have an Idea” and 27 women entrepreneurs were selected to participate.
During the one-week training period, the entrepreneurs received training on topics such as:
-
- Financial Analysis,
- Business Plan Preparation,
- Business Model Development,
- Marketing, and Overcoming Challenges in Entrepreneurship.
At the same time, mentors and successful figures from the business world shared their experiences with the female entrepreneurs. At the end of the entrepreneurship camp, the selected successful projects were granted an additional support of 25,000 TL per project (if they were eligible to receive one of the financial supports provided by national and international official institutions and organizations) and were also provided with accommodation facilities at the Incubation Center within Marmara Teknokent to carry out their projects for one year.
