The Women in Innovation Project is an initiative aimed at enhancing women’s entrepreneurial skills and enabling them to transform their ventures into high-potential, quality employment opportunities. Organized by KADEM (Women and Democracy Association (KADEM)) in collaboration with TÜBİTAK Marmara Teknokent (MARTEK), with the support of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and media sponsorship from Sabah, A Haber, Daily Sabah, and Lacivert Magazine, the 4th Women in Innovation Entrepreneurship Camp was held this year from January 21-27, 2019.
Applications for the project were accepted in December via the website www.inovasyondakadin.org. 275 women entrepreneurs applied with the slogan “I Have an Idea,” and 30 of them were selected to participate in the program following the evaluations of the jury.
With the slogan “Make your project your business” the 4th Women’s Entrepreneurship Camp in Innovation offered entrepreneurs a week-long training program covering:
- Realizing Potential in Entrepreneurship,
- Developing a Business Model in Entrepreneurship,
- Project Cycle,
- Market Analysis in Entrepreneurship,
- Marketing in Entrepreneurship,
- Entrepreneurship and Start-ups,
- Cost Analysis in Entrepreneurship,
- Overcoming Difficulties and Leadership in Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy.
They also had the opportunity to meet with mentors and successful figures from the business world to benefit from their experience sharing.
At the end of the entrepreneurship camp, the five successful projects that made it to the finals were entitled to an additional support of 25,000 TL per project (if they were eligible to receive one of the financial supports provided by national and international official institutions and organizations) and also had the right to accommodation for one year at the Incubation Center within Marmara Teknokent to carry out their projects.
