While entrepreneurship is the path to economic development around the world and in our country, empowering women also requires innovation and entrepreneurship. The 3rd Women in Innovation Entrepreneurship Camp, organized in collaboration with the Women and Democracy Association (KADEM) and TÜBİTAK Marmara Teknokent (MARTEK), with the support of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and media sponsorship from Sabah, A Haber, Daily Sabah, and Lacivert Magazine, was held on October 8-14, 2017.
With the slogan “Make your project your business” 29 of the 519 projects that applied to the 3rd Women’s Entrepreneurship Camp in Innovation were selected to participate.
During the one-week training period, entrepreneurs learned about:
- Realizing Potential in Entrepreneurship,
- Developing a Business Model in Entrepreneurship,
- Project Cycle,
- Market Analysis in Entrepreneurship,
- Marketing in Entrepreneurship,
- Entrepreneurship and Start-ups,
- Cost Analysis in Entrepreneurship,
- National and International Intellectual Property Processes,
- Communication Workshop for Entrepreneurs,
- Business Law,
- Overcoming Challenges and Leadership in Entrepreneurship,
- Feasibility in Entrepreneurship,
- Financial Literacy.
They also had the opportunity to meet with mentors and successful figures from the business world to benefit from their experience sharing.
At the end of the entrepreneurship camp, the five successful projects that made it to the finals were entitled to an additional support of 25,000 TL per project (if they were eligible to receive one of the financial supports provided by national and international official institutions and organizations) and also had the right to accommodation for one year at the Incubation Center within Marmara Teknokent to carry out their projects.
