Opening Ceremony of the 7th Women in Innovation Camp on October 12
The ‘Women in Innovation Project’, which enables women who say ‘I have an idea’ to realize their ideas and is organized annually under the leadership of KADEM, is now 7 years old.
The primary goal of the Women in Innovation project, held for the seventh time this year, is to increase women’s entrepreneurial courage and support them in transforming their projects into ventures with high employment potential…
The application process for this year’s project, organized under the Entrepreneurship Financial Support Program of the Istanbul Development Agency; with the partnership of Yıldız Teknopark, Istanbul TTO, Turkish Exporters Assembly, Üsküdar Municipality, the participation of TÜBİTAK Marmara Teknokent, Bilişim Vadisi, and the support of KOSGEB, has been completed. Following the evaluations of the jury, those eligible to participate in the entrepreneurship camp have been determined.
KADEM Board of Trustees Chair Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar, TÜBİTAK Marmara Teknokent General Manager Mehmet Ali Okur, Yıldız Teknopark Entrepreneurship Program Specialist Hasan Demirezen, Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen, Bilişim Vadisi General Manager A. Serdar İbrahimcioğlu, and Istanbul TTO Manager Barkın Arak will attend the opening ceremony of the camp on October 12, which began online training on October 10.
At the Women in Innovation Camp, entrepreneurs will be provided with free access to open office and prototyping workshops, opportunities to share experiences with other entrepreneurs, and access to investment funds. During the camp, which will also offer mentorship for national and international project applications and photo/video promotion opportunities in digital newspapers, free access to finance, sales, marketing, and customer management applications will be provided.
The first two days of the Women in Innovation camp, which will take place between October 10-16, will be online, and the following days will be held Grand Cevahir Hotel Şişli in person. At the end of the camp, the finalist entrepreneurs will be determined. On Sunday, October 16, with the participation of the Minister of Industry and Technology, Mustafa Varank, the awards will be presented to the finalists at a gala.
This year, the first 3 entrepreneurs in the pre-incubation period will receive a total of 300 thousand TL in awards, with 150 thousand TL for the first place, 100 thousand TL for the second, and 50 thousand TL for the third.
The three projects deemed worthy of the incubation award will receive “seed investment support.”
Additionally, project stakeholders will provide office and workshop support for the first year for the entrepreneurs’ project work.
Since 2015, over 2,000 women entrepreneurs have applied to the Women in Innovation Project. More than 200 women entrepreneurs have participated in our innovation camps. Out of the 30 women entrepreneurs who reached the finals and received awards and certificates at the end of the camps, 13 have established their own companies. They have received awards in national and international competitions and achieved significant success in various sectors.
